5 Ways of Finding Self Awareness and Self Love

We are never taught two very important things: Self Awareness and Self Love. Our parents don’t teach us and schools or society definitely don’t. So it’s up to you to find it for yourself.

Often we catch ourselves thinking negatively or blaming our emotional traumas and insecurities on other people. Or on social media comparing our lives to celebrities or friends highlight reel and it can start to make us feel less grateful for our own lives. Start each day with positive affirmations and learning to love yourself. If you feel like following certain people or daily habits puts a toll on the perception of your image or well being, just remove it and move forward. Take the time to find your happiness from within.

This is a perfect example about relationships as well. We are taught to find the ones who will love us but how can anyone love us if we don’t love ourselves first. Focus on the relationship you have with yourself. Notice what kind of thoughts you are thinking and what you are saying to yourself.
Ways to practice self love and awareness daily
  1. Practice meditation and self reflection.
  2. Disconnect from electronics for at least 1 hour a day.
  3. Connect with your inner being.
  4. Create a 15 min self care routine. Massage your feet, moisturize your skin, etc.
  5. Look in the mirror and tell yourself positive statements.
